Lowe 2012 Mudgee Blue Cabernet Shiraz

Mudgee NSW | 14.0 per cent alcohol | $30

Blending cabernet sauvignon and shiraz has a history in Australia very near as long as the country’s wine industry itself.

The two grape varieties complement each other perfectly, with the minty aromas of the former balanced by the luscious juiciness of the latter.

It's been matured in puncheons for two years, and I agree with winemaker David Lowe that it is quite approachable now but has the potential to develop and improve for quite a few years, I'd guess at least 10.
