Patina 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon

Orange NSW | 13.2 per cent alcohol | $30

More than shiraz, most cabernet sauvignon needs some bottle age to become approachable and drink really well.

So it’s great to taste this near-nine-year-old current release from Gerald Naef’s vineyard just a few kilometres south-east of Orange.

The tannins have softened and the wine goes perfectly with pink roast lamb.
